The Expanz Team

Nigel Ash – Managing Director

Passionate about the continued success of the EPS industry, Nigel’s acquisition of the Maleplas business in early 2007 afforded him the opportunity to embrace his passion and commitment for the plastics and machinery industry.

Nigel’s unique combination of more than 25 years in the industry as a Chemical Engineer, coupled with being a business owner himself, ensures Nigel has the perspective and understanding essential to our clients.

A Chemical Engineer, Nigel is a person with a technical interest in understanding the ‘how and why’.

Having a corporate career spanning Project management, Manufacturing, Technical development, Sales and Business Management, Nigel’s career lead to senior executive roles within American multi-nationals Monsanto and Huntsman. Nigel’s final role was GM of a division in manufacturing and import/export sales and distribution, underpinning his decision to acquire his own business.

As well as supporting the technical requirements of the business, Nigel is actively involved in sales, relationships with our customers and other stakeholders, in addition to strategic planning for the future direction of Expanz.

In July 2009 Nigel was elected as Vice President of EPSA, an industry group committed to the future success of the EPS industry.

Outside work, Nigel enjoys the occasional round of golf, socialising with friends and supporting the activities of his family, especially his school aged daughters.

Amanda McKay – Business Manager

Amanda joined the team in October 2007 after spending a number of years in varied arenas including International Wholesale Travel, Transportation, Logistics and Franchising.

Having been hand selected to sit on the executive board of “The AOT Group”  for 5+ years, Amanda played an instrumental role in the growth of what is today Australia’s largest wholesale travel group. As Finance Manager and then ecommerce co-ordinator at AOT, her background has allowed Amanda to bring her understanding and knowledge of what it takes to survive in today’s commercial climate to the Expanz business.

Based at the Coles distribution centre in Narre Warren Victoria, Amanda’s time at Linfox afforded her a fundamental understanding of Logistics. Her role was the pilot for national “on site load analysis”. Amanda designed and implemented the onsite load analysis processes required for direct report to Coles, in addition to rewriting a number of company reports of which were rolled out nationally.

Moving into Franchising gave Amanda a new insight into what is required to both start up and continue to develop a business to maturity. As Business Relationship Manager for Award Bookkeeping Company, Amanda worked directly with new and existing franchisees, supporting all areas of their businesses. The greatest impact on Amanda was her opportunity to support firsthand, and learn the roller coaster new business owners often ride when settling into their venture. Amanda considers this time fundamental to having an understanding for what Expanz clients often experience operating their businesses.

Today Amanda’s passion is our client relationships.  Her attention is constantly focussed on our client’s needs. Amanda leads our operational activities making sure we deliver on our promises.

Since her arrival at Expanz , Amanda has embraced the EPS industry and enjoys working with its many characters. Her time outside of work is spent with her partner and friends.
